Height and Spread: 40cm x 40cm
Commonly known as Heart's Tongue Fern, Asplenium scolopendrium has a tufted habit. This evergreen fern has glossy green arching strap-like fronds with rippling margins that point towards the sky.
Humus-rich soil with a pH of neutral to alkaline are its ideal soil conditions, in dense or dappled shade. Ideal for underplanting evergreen shrubs or along the dappled fringes of a woodland planting scheme, it contrasts brilliantly with finer, more deeply cut ferns and Epimedium. Easy to grow, just remove damaged or dead fronds as needed.
