Description

Height and Spread: 120cm x 60cm

Dryopteris is commonly known as the Male Fern, 'Linearis Polydactyla' has an upright, shuttle-cock like appearance and a clump forming habit. The tall green arching fronds are very narrowly divided with multi-forked tips.

Best when grown in semi-shade and a humus-rich soil but tolerant of a sunnier site if the soil is reliably moisture-retentive. It can be divided during spring. An interesting foliage plant which is often used for under planting trees and shrubs.
