The foxglove 'Camelot Series' produces lots of willowy spires of hanging thimble-like flowers in a range of colours from cream to lavender to rose pink, each bloom sporting a delicately spotted darker internal throat. This specially bred biennial plant is known for its prolific flowering, often in its first year and again in its second.
It will readily self seed. Much beloved of insect pollinators, especially the bees, it makes a great cottage garden plant but is just as happy in a woodland setting. It performs best in part shade and a fertile soil enriched with humus, but can also tolerate a sunny situation.
All parts are poisonous.
