As its name 'Flambeau' suggests, the double flowers of this stunning Potentilla with deep red petals and golden centres shine out like torches, weaving on slender stems above mounds of clumping green foliage.
Easy to grow and hard working, it will flower its socks off from May through to August with regular deadheading. Informal in habit, the flowers tend to tumble and sprawl if unsupported, helping to blur the edge of a pathway or border, plus suppress those pesky weeds. Corralled in by other plants the stems will stay more vertical adding rich pops of red to your bed. For the best results grow it in a fairly fertile, free draining soil in full sun.
