Yellow petals overlaid with red streaking surround the deep brown cone centres of these daisy-like flowers which start blooming in late June. Linear green lance-shaped leaves cover the upright stems of this perennial which is popular with pollinators.
Helenium, commonly known as Sneezeweed, thrives in full sun and any good, moisture-retentive yet free-draining soil. Plant with other late flowering perennials to create 'prairie style' schemes, they look fantastic when planted with other Heleniums mixing and matching the flower colours. Extend their flowering season by regularly deadheading.
