Large velvety, dark red trumpet-like flowers with a yellow throat appear during the summer. The fragrant flowers with their curved petals and ruffled edges, do not fade in the sun. Commonly known as Daylily, this clump-forming perennial has narrow green grass-like arching foliage.
This versatile plant can be planted en masse alongside steams or at the edges of ponds or used in prairie style planting, cottage gardens or city gardens; great for low maintenance situations. 'Ed Murray' thrives in any moderately moisture-retentive good soil, in full sun or part shade.
