Bold and striking, 'Lord Warden's' deep golden yellow flowers with amber veining cannot fail to command attention. If its lush jewel-like colouring does not seduce you, then perhaps its sweet fragrance will.
Flowering from mid May through June, this cottage garden stalwart performs best in free draining soil in full sun, delivering a real punch of colour to a border or cutting garden. It combines brilliantly with rusty browns such as Iris 'Carnival Time' or I. 'Kent Pride', a colour combo' seen in several recent RHS Chelsea gardens or go for contrast with I. 'Sable' or I. Deep Black'.
