'Ice Queen' is one of the palest Kniphofia we have seen, with dense, narrow spikes of pale creamy-yellow flowers with a hint of lime that slowly fade to white as they mature.
Tall and elegant, its floral display lasts from mid summer into autumn, adding strong verticality and delicate cool colour to a variety of garden styles from cottage garden to slick town courtyard. Being evergreen, its clumps of arching green grass-like leaves provide useful winter structure as well. It needs full sun and a humus-rich, well drained soil to flourish, but can cope with most good, moist free-draining soils with sufficient depth. Bees and other pollinators love its nectar-rich flowers.
