Height x Spread: 90cm x 50cm
Large, semi double, pinky-mauve flowers with tutu-like petals encircling saffron yellow eyes, are carried in dense sprays on slender, branching stems with pointed, mid-green, narrow leaves. Flowering from late summer into autumn, this vigorous and strong-growing perennial will provide a very desirable injection of colour into a late season border.
It looks particularly effective planted in drifts through a garden. Alternatively, combine it with ornamental grasses and other perennials such as Geum 'Scarlet Tempest', Rudbeckia and Verbena bonariensis to achieve a fashionable informal style. Split plants every three years, to keep them strong and vigorous. 'Patricia Ballard' performs best in a moist soil, that is also fertile and well-cultivated, in full sun.
