A wonderfully naturalistic Digitalis with soft purplish-pink tubular flowers and contrasting wine red spotted throat, which hang in loose fat spikes above crinkled downy green foliage.

Hailing from Spain and Portugal, this tough and reliable perennial flowers for weeks on end from mid summer onwards, its nectar rich blooms attracting bees and other pollinators in their droves.  Tolerant of most light conditions from sun to shade, it positively thrives in part shade in a fertile soil, but can also cope with other soils as long as they are not too dry or damp.  It would look stunning planted in swathes through a woodland, wildlife or cottage garden.
