Height x Spread: 30cm x 40cm

On a cold grey spring day nothing lifts the spirits like a Hellebore in flower and 'Gold Red Star' is one of the most striking available.  Flowering from late winter into early spring, it produces elegant but simple five petalled flowers of the softest creamiest yellow with red basal markings and contrasting yellow stamens that are held in small clusters over mid green deeply cut leathery foliage.

Preferring a partially shaded location in a nutrient rich, damp but free draining soil, this is a great choice for introducing winter colour into a woodland scheme or underplanting shrubs in a border.  Being evergreen, it also acts as an attractive foil for winter interest shrubs such as red and orange stemmed Cornus, spring bulbs and Ophiopogon nigrescens

Irritant to the skin, harmful if eaten.
