Tall flower spikes in shades of yellow, red, pink and blue, as well as bi-colours. Plant in large clumps for the best effect. Cut back lightly soon after flowering to tidy them up, which may encourage a second flush of flowers.
April - July
Indoors - in seed trays or pots in a warm greenhouse or similar
Moisten compost before sowing. Sow seed and cover with compost or vermiculite, keep moist and at a temperature 20-25°C. Germination can take up to a month but can be faster if seeds are soaked in cold water overnight before sowing. Prick out into single pots (3") and grow on in cooler conditions. Plant out in August - September.
