We are always on the hunt for activities to do with the kids and this seemed not only rather seasonal but more importantly lots of fun. Here Natasha our office manager shows us how to make quick and easy Christmas decorations for the tree - READY, GET SET, MAKE
Ingredients
1 cup Corn Flower
1 cup any craft glue
1 tablespoon white (distilled) vinegar or lemon juice as a preservative
1 tablespoon vegetable oil which creates a smooth silky texture
Method
Mix all the ingredients together in a non stick pan and cook on a medium to low heat for a few minutes. The mixture will then start to look like cottage cheese with little lumps. This is when you need to remove it from the heat.
Leave to cool and then knead the mixture before it is completely cooled.
Once completely cool roll it out on a wooden board (use plenty of corn flour for dusting and rolling). When it is rolled out to about an inch thickness, use Christmas cookie cutters to make shapes or childrens' handprints to make impressions for cherished keepsakes. When you are happy with your creation, don't forget to use a straw to make the holes to take the hanging ribbon. Leave to air dry. Beware these can take 5 days to fully harden.
Decorate as desired with paints, crayons and stickers.
Hang them up for everyone to admire
