We want you our Hardy's Gardeners to be among the first to know about the super exciting event we are holding in May at the Nursery.
After many years of exhibiting and winning 24 Gold Medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, we decided that 2020 was to be our last year at the world famous show with one of our biggest displays ever. But that was before the pandemic arrived throwing everyone’s plans up in the air. So we put the perennials back to bed for another year hopeful that the Show would happen in 2021.
The Good News is that it is but postponed until September and sadly we cannot participate as it takes over a year to grow plants to the standard required by the show.
But not to be downhearted WE HAVE A PLAN! We are going to create our biggest, best and final display in all its glory with our home grown plants plus trees and handcrafted timber sculptures at our Nursery in Freefolk and we would like to share it with you, our wonderful HG's.
Construction of the garden will start in late April ready for the grand opening by a celebrity gardener on May 17th. But from May 18th the garden will be open for everyone to visit for two weeks in a safe, socially distanced way. Entrance is by ticket only - these are free but have to be booked with a small booking fee, with any donations provided by visitors going to one of our favourite local charities Naomi House and Jacksplace. Details of booking for the daytime events will be available on our website from mid April.
BUT JUST FOR THE HARDY'S GARDENERS, we are holding 2 special evenings hosted by Rosy and Rob Hardy where you can visit the garden and get the lowdown from the designer, grower and constructor. The dates are:
Wednesday 19th May - evening event 6.30 - 8.00pm
Thursday 20th May - evening event 6.30 - 8.00pm
To book these events, email us on [email protected] stating which evening you would like to attend. Each Hardy's Gardener is allowed to bring one guest. Attendance on each night is limited to maintain safe distancing, but more dates may be released if required. There is no booking fee for these events but all your donations will go to Naomi Home and Jacks Place.
We hope to see you there!
