September’s gorgeous hound is THOR, a proper gentle giant of a Golden Labrador. Despite being two and half he has kept the nickname ‘Puppy Dog’ but also answers to ‘Thorba Sanguisorba’ his botanical name. You may notice a resemblance to BAGEL who is his aunt but make no mistake he towers over her and the rest of the pack that keep an eye on Georgia and her husband.
A frequent visitor at the nursery over the summer THOR has now returned to work with his dad for the autumn and winter. We soon caught on that he is a skilled bird picker-upper as he was rarely seen around the nursery without something in his mouth. Pots are a particular favourite (we have never been so tidy – thank you THOR) but also small branches, his toy Tigger and socks.
We also discovered that he has a penchant for sitting in and under things, which added a few grey hairs to members of staff who discovered him. We sort of understood the appeal of a ‘dutch trolley’ for keeping you dry in the rain but cannot fathom why he likes to sit in the potting bark trolley which he does fill – maybe something to do with exfoliation??
Favourite place ‘My armchair at home – bliss!! And the remote to chew on’
Favourite food ‘CUP OF TEA. They are so generous here they leave me cups all over the place, great for my hydration. Cannot work out why Neil gets so angry though’
Favourite vehicle ‘The pick-up truck – I can nibble Georgia’s ears from the back seat, making sure she keeps them clean’
Worst habit ‘Excuse me, how rude. Not my fault that people do not want a cuddle when they are nice and clean, saves me having a bath’
Worst fear ‘Being left at home when there is work to be done. I stick to mum and dad like glue if they are heading out the door’
