A Big Thank You - CHARITY OPEN DAY in aid of Naomi House & Jacksplace

Well, what a beautiful day we had!  The sun shone as we welcomed everyone to our annual Open Day in aid of our local children's hospice Naomi House & Jacksplace .

Thank you for helping us raise £1000!

We hope that everyone who joined us enjoyed their day - thank you so much for coming!

If you would like to join us again next year and want to pop the date in your diary we have provisionally marked Sunday 2nd of June as our 2019 Charity Open Day - Don't forget to check the website for updates.

A few snap shots from our Open Day

Julie busy meeting and greeting people as they arrived and collecting donations to Naomi and Jacksplace in return for the chance to win either a pair of tickets to the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show or a voucher kindly donated by our excellent local pub the Watership Down Inn

Hardy's team chat prior to the gates opening - Elaine (out of shot)  Emi, Rachel and Sarah, our team on the tills for the day who were kept busy giving helpful advice to our customers about their purchases. Thank you to Georgia who was also in the team but who is not in the picture for restocking our sales area making sure our customers wouldn't run out of plants to buy.

One of our four legged friends accompanied by his owner

The refreshments team - Hazel and Jenny in charge of Tea, coffee and cake.

(We are hugely grateful to Jenny who comes and takes charge of the refreshments for us on our Open Day)

Rosy taking a well earned break between demonstrations of how to create a flower show display - she was also handing out lots of tips on how to combine flower and leaf colour and how to get the most from your plants when designing your own borders.

Some very happy ladies each winning a bottle of wine at exactly the same time!

(Many thank's to Pat from Naomi and Jacksplace for joining us each year and becoming part of the Hardy's Team for the day.)

Two more of our four legged friends.

We must mention Rob who was busy giving guided tours of our propagation house, multi-span polythene tunnels and demonstrating how our potting machine works.

Thank you to Maurice, who manned the skittles alley.

And, a big thank you to Neil and Cameron for taking care of the car parking area and making sure all our visitors had space to park.
