Celebrate the 'Joy of Gardening' during national gardening week 2 - 8 May 2022

Now in it’s 10th year, National Gardening Week sees thousands of people sharing their love of gardening, hosting events around the country and talking about what they're growing on social media.

The aim of National Gardening week is to celebrate gardening and raise awareness of the difference that gardens and gardening can make to the lives of everyone in the UK. It inspires more people, particularly the next generation of gardeners, to experience the joy of growing and creating beautiful green spaces.

This years theme is the ‘Joy of Gardening’ and activities will be taking place at the 5 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) gardens: Wisley in Surrey, Bridgewater in Salford, Harlow Carr in Yorkshire, Hyde Hall in Essex and Rosemoor in Devon.  During the course of the week, there will be activities for all ages.

And watch out for the 4 new Community Gardens in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland which will open their doors on 2 May 2022.  Grant funded by the RHS. These gardens are spaces where groups, families, organisations and individuals can discover, share and grow their joy of gardening.

If you can’t get along to any of the RHS gardens, why not take a photo of your gardening or green space joy and upload it to social media with #nationalgardeningweek.
