As most of you know, here at Hardy’s we’re all about the plants and the 100% peat-free media you can grow them in. However, this year saw us make an exception for a brilliant company called ‘Metal In Bloom’

Based in Andover, this family run forge makes beautiful garden supports, decorative panels and free-standing sculptures all made from 100% British Steel and carrying a 10-year guarantee.

Rob has worked alongside Dale at ‘Metal In Bloom’, for a few years at local and national shows and has been very impressed with the standard of his company’s work. This year we had some pieces created for our own displays that highlighted the fact that we are a very successful nesting site for migratory swallows.

Late this Summer Rob cleared and levelled an area beside our sales shed and the ‘Metal In Bloom Shop’ was born. Dale and his team made display supports out of recycled sleepers and stocked the area with lots of beautiful items. Over the months the steel has rusted giving a very clear picture of how the pieces will integrate into your garden spaces. In Summer they will softly inhabit the beds providing support and decorative vantage points for visiting birds and insects. In Winter the pieces stand proud above the receding growth and add structure and beauty to the view.

Dale and his team make sure to deliver new pieces within 1 or 2 working days so we never run low. Furthermore, ‘Metal in Bloom’ have an in-house design team so not only are they always coming up with new designs for us, but they can undertake bespoke commissions too.
