Spring is in the air

A new year and so many exciting events to look forward to. The new growing season is always wonderful, especially watching the herbaceous perennials as they start to wake up in the spring. The Nursery is brimming with pots that are full of potential - they will sprout and grow producing fabulous foliage and wonderful flowers.

2017 has already seen the launch of our new website, which we are so pleased to have developed, with help from our local web developers, to make your shopping experience with us interesting and smooth. Keeping up with the advances in technology is something we needed to do to ensure our new website is compatible with all the modern devices (even if we are slight dinosaurs).

We look forward to the website being your first port of call for information about plants for your garden. It will be full of nuggets of information to help you succeed with having a wonderful display through the seasons.

All this leads up to the new show season and events held at the Nursery. There are numerous RHS Partnership Talks for you to look forward to; as always these talks will be given by me. We are very happy to announce that we have also secured some excellent guest speakers, building on our initial trial run from last year. All the details for the events are on the new website. And it's now possible to book these events via the website too; of course if you would prefer to ring us up and talk to a real person that's still absolutely fine.

Our show season is always pretty full and in 2016 it was especially so. As many of you will know, at The RHS Chelsea Flower Show in addition to our usual display in the Floral Pavilion we created a show garden on Main Avenue. The foray to the outside gardens was a long held ambition that I am happy to say has now been achieved. However the Floral Pavilion is where I feel truly at home showing off our own incredible plant range, and this year I will be concentrating fully on this again.

Our wonderful sponsors, Brewin Dolphin, are supporting our Floral Marquee exhibit at The RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year, enabling us to create water features and other hard landscaping to help show off our plants. We look forward to our collaboration with them again this year.

Happy gardening in 2017 everyone,

 Rosy Hardy
