Centaurea simplicicaulis

This low growing Knapweed has finely divided foliage of a silvery-green colour. The small pinkie mauve flowers stand on upright stems which protrude from the mound-forming foliage.

Knapweed is ideal for drought tolerant locations as it prefers full sun and free-draining soils. It can be used at the front of borders and in rock or alpine gardens.
