100% Peat Free Pollinator Friendly

Symphyotrichum novae-angliae ‘Andenken an Alma Pötschke’ is a vivid New England Aster bearing double, lipstick-pink flowers flushed cerise on upright, robust stems with narrow mid-green leaves. It delivers a long-lasting and intensely colourful display from late summer into autumn.

For a bold combination, mix it with Salvia ‘Blue Spire’ and Oenothera ‘Rosy Shimmers’. It also looks particularly good alongside dark foliage or dark-flowered ornamental grasses such as Molinia caerulea subsp. caerulea ‘Heidebraut’. It performs best in fertile, moist soil in sun or partial shade.

  • Care Guide:

Divide clumps every 3–4 years to maintain vigour — any time after flowering but spring is preferred. Cut back stems after flowering in autumn. Taller selections may require staking. Symphyotrichum novi-belgii cultivars benefit from good air circulation to help prevent mildew.

  • Good to Know

Pollinator-friendly — the flowers attract bees and other pollinators; the central disc turns from yellow to brown once pollinated.

Vigorous and long-lived; clumps bulk up well over time.
