This truly perennial foxglove bears spires of large tubular creamy-yellow flowers with internal brown freckles over evergreen foliage. It grows naturally in open woods and grassy areas near streams from Central Europe to the north Mediterranean.
Here it is fantastic for lightening up shady areas of a woodland or cottage garden, where it will clump up quickly and attract pollinators. A further bonus is that it cuts well for arrangements and has some rabbit and deer resistance. It performs best in dappled or partial shade in a humus-rich soil.
All parts are poisonous.
