Wow, a bit of a showstopper, 'Faust' draws attention not only for its size but also the intense deep blue-purple double flowers with a black eye that pack its dramatic flowerspikes from mid summer into early autumn.  Standing very tall and proud above green divided foliage, this Delphinium definitely makes a bold statement in the border. 

Its extraordinary colour mixes brilliantly with other jewel colours such as oranges, yellows and pinks but also sings out contrasted against whites, a classic clean colour combination.  Bring the drama indoors by growing them in your cutting garden too as they last well in arrangements.  It thrives in full sun, in a fertile, free draining soil but needs to be staked.
