Description

Geranium nodosum Dark Form

Height and Spread: 45cm x 75cm

Geranium nodosum is a semi-evergreen, clump forming perennial that is ideally suited to part-sun, shade or semi-shade. This tough little plant is drought tolerant once established so can even be placed in dry shade.

Geranium nodosum Dark Form has open, pollinator friendly, purple flowers which are paler at the centre, over dark green leaves. Happy in any soil pH as long as it drains freely, this rhizomatous perennial will bulk up slowly and can be split once it reaches a suitable size.

No pruning is required but cutting back spent stems and leaves will encourage new growth and more flowers. A really useful plant that can be used to stabilise shady banks, underplanting for shrubs and trees, groundcover and in rain shadows and drier areas near walls and fences.
