Geranium phaeum 'Lilac'

Height x Spread: 60cm x 60cm

Dainty, flat, clear lilac flowers with a distinct white eye, are held in groups on narrow stems above mounds of mid-green divided foliage. Encourage new growth by removing jaded stems and leaves after flowering.

Perfect for weaving through the front of a shady border or in clumps in a woodland garden, it looks fantastic combined with starry white Galium odoratum and ferns.  Our own introduction bred from a chance seedling, it is a bold colour addition to the range of shade tolerant plants. Like other Geranium phaeum it grows well in any fairly rich, well-drained soils but can cope with most soils if not too damp.  Happy in shade or part shade, it can also take a sunnier position.
