Dainty, narrow petalled star-like cream flowers, that quiver in the breeze, are held on red, slender stems with dark green deeply divided leaves.
This Gillenia can tolerate a more alkaline soil. Its delicacy and airy grace really add interest and texture to woodland planting schemes, but will also enhance and illuminate a partially shaded border. This easy to grow plant performs best in part shade in any fertile soil that is well-drained, but retains some moisture.
