× Heucherella 'Buttered Rum'PBR

Height x Spread: 25cm x 35cm

An attractive and hardy perennial, 'Buttered Rum' forms a compact clump with maple shaped leaves and masses of small white flower spires in summer.  The foliage to this plant is a beautiful caramel in the spring darkening to copper then maturing to a rich wine red in the autumn.

It prefers part shade and works well at the front of a border or under shrubs such as roses hiding their bare legs, but also makes a perfect companion in a planter. It needs fertile, moist but free draining soil and will tolerate some sun but not at the hottest part of the day as its leaves will scorch.

Very easy to grow, you just need to remove the old leaves in spring.  As it is semi-evergreen it will provide colour and interest through the seasons but may drop its leaves in a very cold winter.  It looks good with Brunnera macrophylla ‘Alexanders’ Great’ PBR and Epimedium x versicolour ‘Sulphureum'.
