Bearded Iris are amongst the most flamboyant of blooms in the early summer garden and 'Au Sommet' does not disappoint with its delicious ruffled colour combination of caramel standards and rich purple edged with cinnamon falls. It brings the party to your border and looks amazing combined with apricot and chestnut hues such as IRIS 'Kent Pride'.
Its foliage is elegant too with bold sword-like leaves that make a striking backdrop to late spring flowers before it own floral display starts in May. Tall for an Iris, it is happy in a middle to back of border position but also makes a wonderful statement plant in a gravel garden. Beloved by bees and other pollinators it is easy to grow in full sun in a free-draining soil.
