Iris 'Tropic Night'

'Tropic Night' is a clump-forming rhizomatous perennial with narrow, bright green grass-like foliage. Tall, erect stems bear deep blue flowers with a yellow veined throat during early summer. 

This variety of Siberian Iris is happy in any reasonably good moisture-retentive yet free-draining soil in sun or partial shade. Coastal locations are ideal as the plant is tolerant to salt spray. This is an excellent plant for many locations, it will be happy beside streams or ponds as long as the soil does not become waterlogged. It is also an excellent plant for courtyard gardens and cottage gardens, the old flower stems if left will provide winter interest.

All parts of this plant are toxic.
