Lamprocapnos spectabilis

Previously known as Dicentra, Lamprocapnos spectabilis forms a clump of divided green foliage. Arching stems bear heart-shaped pink flowers hence the common name Bleeding Heart. The flowers appear during late spring.

Best when planted in a sheltered spot in partial shade and in a humus-rich soil. A great plant to use as under-planting for trees, shrubs or roses. Division can be carried out during early spring. All parts of this plant are toxic.
