Description

Camassia leichtlinii 'Alba'

Height x Spread: 90cm x 50cm.

Flowering from April to Early June, this statuesque plant has strap like leaves and erect stems of star shaped white flowers. Each stem holds many buds which open in succession, making for a long flowering period. Ideal for naturalising in grass or beds, it will, over time, create a good clump that can be lifted and split every four or five years. It likes moist but well drained soil of any pH. Ensure the area in which it stands does not suffer with excessive Winter wet. Ideally it likes full sun but will tolerate partial shade.

Mulch in Autumn, any plants that are likely to be exposed to frost and do not place in areas of the garden that suffer the most frost damage, for instance exposed east facing conditions.

Given the correct conditions this plant will reliably cope with temperatures down to -10 degrees C.

Perfect for  architectural, prairie, wildflower, cottage, informal, city and courtyard styles of garden, as well as cut flowers. A low maintenance and reliable plant which is excellent for pollinators.
