Lysimachia is commonly known as Loosestrife and the variety 'Firecracker' lives up to its name by producing fabulous nodding star-shaped blooms that are a vibrant yellow. The clump-forming perennial's yellow blooms contrast fantastically with lance-shaped purple foliage during summer.
Sheltered areas in the full sun are required for 'Firecracker'. Any reasonably good soil is preferred providing it can be kept moist. Loosestrife is perfect for moist borders or growing alongside watercourses. It also attracts insects therefore suiting a wildlife border.
