Penstemon 'Cherry'

Delightful vibrant cherry red flowers with a striped red and white throat appear throughout the summer. P. 'Cherry' is a clump-forming upright perennial with glossy green, simple, narrow leaves.

This is a very flexible perennial, it will work in any soil type providing it is not too moist. It would not look out of place in a 'hot' border. Deadhead to encourage more flowers to be produced. Do not be tempted to cut this perennial down before the winter, leave the top growth to protect it. In spring, after the last frosts have passed, cut the plant back hard. Softwood cuttings can be taken during the summer.
