Description

Penstemon 'Hidcote Purple'

Height x Spread: 60cm x 60cm

With its display of striking trumpet flowers, reddish-purple with striped pink and white throats, 'Hidcote Purple' will add distinction and colour to your garden all through summer into autumn.

This hard to find cottage garden perennial is perfect for attracting pollinators.  Upright and bushy in form with narrow green foliage, it looks best planted in groups towards the front of a border.  Its jewel-like hue combines beautifully with pinks, purples and oranges as well as whites and soft yellows.

It prefers a reasonably fertile, well-drained soil in sun or dappled shade.  Refrain from cutting back until after the spring frosts have finished, when you can then cut all the way to the base.

H3 - Hardy in coastal and relatively mild parts of the UK (-5 to 1)
