Description

Phlox divaricata subsp. laphamii 'Chattahoochee'

Height x Spread:  30cm x 45cm

Clouds of delicate lilac flowers, each highlighted with a red eye, appear in late spring above slowly spreading clumps of narrow green foliage.

A favourite with many of us at the nursery, 'Chattahoochee' always draws the eye, its delightful colour combination singing out at the front of a sunny border.  As you would suspect, it mixes beautifully with purples and reds, Semiaquilegia ecalcarata is a good companion for it.  Perfect for edging or planting beneath roses to provide early colour.  Fairly undemanding, it can cope with most soils including clay, if they are fertile, damp but free-draining.
