Primula elatior is the true form of Oxlip. Highly scented, dark eyed, pale yellow flowers appear during the spring, their flower stalks arise from tidy rosettes of almost oblong-shaped rough textured green leaves.
As a British native this primula lends its self to naturalising in open woodland areas. Oxlip gives off a divine fragrance which makes it a wonderful choice for a sensory garden. This low maintenance perennial will provide an early food source to encourage bees and other pollinators into your garden. Primula elatior should flourish providing they have a moisture retentive soil in sun or partial shade,
