Salvia × sylvestris 'Crystal Blue'PBR (Color Spires Series)
Height x Spread: 45cm x 50cm
Discovered as a chance seedling in a nursery field, this new introduction has a unique sky-blue colour that will make it a welcome addition to the garden. ‘Crystal Blue’ is a form of the Balkan clary, it's fully hardy plant and is attractive to butterflies and bees.
Suitable for growing in any type of soil and in full sun or part shade, this herbaceous perennial starts blooming in July. The stems can be cut back as soon as they start to fade to promote a second flush of flower in September.
Originating in the US state of Michigan, Salvia x sylvestris ‘Crystal Blue’ has already proven hugely popular in North America. Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants launched it on behalf of the nursery who discovered it, at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017
