Height x Spread: 60cm x 60cm
Commonly known as 'Horizontal Calico Aster', this compact perennial produces low, branching, rigid stems with dark green narrow leaves, that are smothered with small white flowers with reddish-pink centres. This is a very useful garden plant. From late spring to early autumn, its striking foliage form and colour makes a great background for surrounding plants, before starbursts of dainty daisies erupt in autumn, covering it for weeks on end.
Most effective grown with ornamental grasses, or planted in groups towards the front of a border, it also makes an unusual but attractive mid-thigh high hedging plant. Tough and easy to grow, bees and butterflies love it too. It grows best in any free draining soil that is fairly fertile, in full sun, but can tolerate partial shade.
