Symphyotrichum novi-belgii 'Algar's Pride'

Height x Spread: 150cm x 70cm

Tall and elegant, 'Algar's Pride' carries the most lovely single slightly ruffled lavender blue flowers, each with a yolk-yellow centre, in delicate sprays.  Flowering for weeks on end from early autumn onwards, they are perfect for adding drama and intense colour to the back of the border.

Slightly informal and open in habit, they complement and combine so brilliantly with taller forms of Rudbeckia plus ornamental grasses such as Calamagrostis.  If you wish to repeat the same colour but closer to the front of the border so that the eye moves round the garden, check out Aster x frikartii 'Monch' to draw the eye.  Like other New York Asters they prefer a fertile, good soil in either sun or light shade.
