100% Peat Free Pollinator Friendly

Symphyotrichum novi-belgii ‘Neron’ is a richly coloured Michaelmas Daisy, producing masses of deep pinky-red double flowers with golden-yellow centres as the days shorten in autumn, lasting through to the end of October. Upright and densely branched with small dark green leaves, it is a bold and punchy presence in the autumn border.

It combines well with ornamental grasses, Rudbeckia fulgida var. speciosa, and other late-flowering perennials such as Vernonia. It thrives in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun.

  • Care Guide:

Divide clumps every 3–4 years to maintain vigour — any time after flowering but spring is preferred. Cut back stems after flowering in autumn. Taller selections may require staking. Symphyotrichum novi-belgii cultivars benefit from good air circulation to help prevent mildew.

  • Good to Know

Pollinator-friendly — the flowers attract bees and other pollinators; the central disc turns from yellow to brown once pollinated.

Vigorous and long-lived; clumps bulk up well over time.
