Commonly known as the False Lupin, Thermopsis lanceolata has striking yellow, lupin-like flowers in late spring, which attract bees and butterflies, and are followed by attractive seedpods. Trifoliate lance-shaped leaves are held on erect upright stems.
Any well-drained, reasonably good soil is ideal for this perennial. Prefering sun but tolerant of light shade this plant makes a beautiful addition to flower beds and borders. Established plants resent root disturbance.
