Kniphofia 'Timothy'

Height x Spread: 75cm x 50cm

From late summer into autumn, 'Timothy' puts on a striking but elegant display of colour.  The individual tubular flowers that form each poker-like spike open upwards from the base, the lower layers a delicious pale apricot gradually warming up in hue as they rise to the top, a glowing deep coral orange.  The resulting ombre effect is modern and eye-catching, set off by rusty orange stems and strappy green foliage.

Easy to  grow, it grows best in full sun in a fertile moist, free-draining soil that does not fully dry out in summer.  Perfect for adding pops of colour into a border, its structural form works well in many styles of planting from informal to courtyard and coastal.  Mix it with apricots and pale pinks for a gentle pastel scheme or let it sing combined with deep reds, oranges and purples.
