Elegant slender flower spikes provide pink firework-like blooms during late summer. The green, lance-shaped foliage forms whorls around tall, erect stems. Veronicastrum virginicum is commonly known as Culver's Root, f. Roseum has an upright bushy habit.
This perennial is happy growing in any reasonable soil as long as it doesn't dry out too much. Great for the back of your borders in either sun or partial shade. Coastal locations are perfect as Culver's Root can deal with salt spray. Bees go mad for f. Roseum, which makes it an ideal choice for a wildlife garden.
