Campanula 'Viking' has been attracting a lot of attention since its recent introduction. A compact form, it carries masses of large narrow purplish-blue bell flowers on neat upright stems with attractive lush green foliage. Initially flowering for weeks on end in early summer, we were delighted to find that cutting it back encouraged a good second flush in late summer.
Very versatile, it would look stunning planted in drifts at the front of a border or as statement plant in a summer container, combining deliciously with so many colours from soft oranges and yellows, to pinks and white. A good choice for a cutting garden, it is said to be rabbit resistant too. It thrives in full sun or partial shade in any reasonably well drained soil.
