An attractive relative of the cornfield Poppy. Single deep crimson blooms with black blotches in the centre. Very easy to grow and flowers continuously throughout the Summer. Will also naturalise and self-seed to come back each year in many gardens. Hardy annual.

Outdoors - where they are to flower
Indoors - Moisten compost before sowing. Sow seed thinly and cover lightly with compost or vermiculite. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle. Can also be sown in autumn and overwintered in a greenhouse.
Outdoors - Sow into a clean, weed free seed bed. Water the bed before sowing. Sow or scatter the seeds, then rake the soil and firm gently. Germination in 3-4 weeks thin to 10-15cm (4-6") between plants.
