Description
Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lady in Red' PBR
Height x Spread: 180cm x 150cm
'Lady in Red' is a purple form of Ninebark, a deciduous shrub which bears clusters of dainty pink flowers during early summer. The main attraction is the sensational three-lobed leaves with their slightly toothed margins, these start off red then slowly turns to bronze-red as the season progresses.
Often used for hedges or screens, this low maintenance plant can cope with any reasonable soil. It prefers sun, but will tolerate part shade. Pruning should be done after flowering to encourage more flowers in the next season, or in winter to maintain a good shape.
