Low maintenance and tolerant of coastal conditions away from the wind, as well as more sheltered, free-draining inland gardens. In exposed or colder areas, grow it in a container and bring it under cover, frost-free, for the winter. Bees, butterflies and moths love it. For best results, grow in thin, light, fairly fertile, free-draining soil in full sun.
