Ajuga reptans 'Purple Torch'
Height x Spread: 20cm x 60cm
Lilac-pink flower spikes with purple bracts appear on this ground covering plant in early summer. The dark green foliage hugs close to the ground, forming a dense mat that neatly suppresses weeds.
Good for growing beneath shrubs in a shady border, this lovely naturalistic plant is also a good choice for a sloping bank with moisture retentive soil or a woodland scheme. Low maintenance, it is possible to keep it tidy by clipping it into shape at any time of the year.
