Amsonia 'Ernst Pagels' has clusters of gorgeous individual large star-like blue flowers. The overhanging fine-leaved foliage is green before changing to a beautiful autumn colour. The bloom appears during the summer.
'Ernst Pagels' can be used in shady situations, in particular in woodland locations as it is deer resistant. Plant it towards the back of your beds in any reasonably good soil.
