Description
Penstemon 'Midnight'
Height x Spread: 60cm x 60cm
This bushy semi-evergreen Penstemon blooms throughout the summer and all the way into the autumn. Upright stems bear tubular dark blue to purple flowers with pink flushed throats. 'Midnight' has linear lance-shaped narrow glossy green foliage.
Deadheading will encourage further flowering. Softwood cuttings can be taken during the summer. Do not be tempted to cut this perennial down before the winter. In spring after the last frosts have passed, cut the plant back hard. These gorgeous flowers look fantastic in any borders or beds. Happy to grow in any fertile, moisture retentive, free-draining soil, in sun or dappled shade.
